It is with great sorrow (for those of us on this side of the firmament) that I announce the passing of my father, Doug Sammons, memorialized on YouTube as the Legend of Lake Isabella.
I will be taking some time off from writing to grieve the loss of my second parent within one year and to settle affairs.
My father passed peacefully in his sleep. It was unexpected, as he was living life to the fullest, singing on the worship team at church, making plans to start a new business, and regularly working out in the yard. He was 81 years old. And, no jabs.
I’m so thankful I had the privilege to speak to him on the phone the night before.
Sometimes, God decides it’s just time for his child to go home.
Please keep our family in your prayers.
Thank you.
If you’d like to learn more about my father, here’s the tribute I created for him on Father’s Day less than a year ago. I’m so thankful I made this video before his passing.
I trust he will get the best ski ride ever on the glassy sea above the firmament.
My condolences sister.
you & your family are in my prayers…
please pray for my sister whose cancer has returned
