Is the Flat Earth a Moral Issue?

If God's Creation is not VERY GOOD — then what is it?

As a Christian, I often hear fellow believers say that the earth's shape doesn't impact their faith, so there's no obligation to study it. This perspective allows them to accept the globe model without questioning or examining its claims. In this essay, I present three lines of reasoning to prove the earth's shape is a moral issue and, therefore, demands investigation. My first defense is that this topic matters because truth matters.

Reason #1: Truth Is A Moral Issue

When we collectively consider the plethora of Bible verses dealing with truth, we cannot escape the reality that truth is a moral issue. God is the God of truth and the source of all truth (John 14:6; 17:17), and He demands that we worship Him in truth (John 4:32). Additionally, He calls us to deal truthfully with one another and put away lying (Ephesians 4:25).

Lying is the anthesis of truth, and lips that tell lies are an abomination to God (Proverbs 12:22). Not only should Christians speak the truth and refrain from lying, but God forbids them from circulating a false report (Exodus 23:1). Since people can inherit lies from previous generations, it is imperative to study out a matter to see if it is true. Studying can take time, resources, and discipline.

If the earth is flat, and we continue to report it as a globe, we might be in cahoots with the devil. Satan is called the father of lies for a reason (John 8:44). He is the archenemy of truth, righteousness, and justice. Take heed: God pours out His wrath on those who suppress the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18). This is especially true of those seeking to hide the truth about God's creation.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.

Romans 1:18-23

While this does not prove or disprove the globe or Flat Earth model — it does testify to the importance of studying the matter because it is a moral issue.

However, there are additional moral implications when discussing the earth's shape. I will share two complementary reasons that together build an airtight case that the shape of the earth is an ethical issue that is extremely important to God.

Reason #2: God's Creation Is Exceedingly Moral

I'm not going to argue for or against Flat Earth here. Instead, I want to show from Scripture that the SHAPE of the earth matters vehemently to God.

Does that sound harsh? Not when you look at Genesis 1:31 in Hebrew.

"Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day" (Genesis 1:31).

Before the seventh day, God testified that His creation was very good. Very is one of those vague words grammars teach writers to replace with a more precise option. For example, instead of the saying (in this example) very good — one might say excellent or exquisite.

I will not trespass upon God's choosing an adjective to describe how good His creation was. Yet, I will charge the translators of using the flimsy word "very" when there are words that would better convey God's thoughts toward this world. Let's examine the Hebrew word translated as "very" in the passage.

Strong's H3966: מְאֹד mᵉʼôd, meh-ode'; from the same as H181; properly, vehemence, i.e. (with or without preposition) vehemently; by implication, wholly, speedily, etc. (often with other words as an intensive or superlative; especially when repeated):—diligently, especially, exceeding(-ly), far, fast, good, great(-ly), × louder and louder, might(-ily, -y), (so) much, quickly, (so) sore, utterly, very ( much, sore), well.

I would prefer that the translators had chosen the word "exceedingly" to express how "very" good God's creation was.

What about the word "good"?

What Does God Mean by Good?

"Good" might be another word for writers to avoid because of its various meanings.

When using the word good, do we mean:

• Tasty? "This is a good burrito!"

• High Quality? "I'm looking for the good stuff."

• Beneficial or Advantageous? "It may taste great, but is it good for you?"

• Competent or Skilled? "Be careful. He's good at chess."

• Pleasant or Enjoyable? "Did you have a good time?"

• Valid or Reliable? "You make a good point."

• Healthy or Unspoiled? "This milk is past expiration; does it smell good?"

• Morally Right or Virtuous? "So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is,God" (Mark 10:18).

Context goes a long way in these cases. However, when God declares that His creation is very (exceedingly) good — what does He mean by good? Let's see how the KJV translates the word (Strong's H2896: טוֹב ṭôwb, tobe) in the Bible.

"The KJV translates Strong's H2896 in the following manner: good (361x), better (72x), well (20x), goodness (16x), goodly (9x), best (8x), merry (7x), fair (7x), prosperity (6x), precious (4x), fine (3x), wealth (3x), beautiful (2x), fairer(2x), favour (2x), glad (2x), miscellaneous (35x)." ¹

Those translations do not precisely pinpoint what God means by good in Genesis 1:31. Let's examine Chapters Two and Three of Genesis to see if there are any further clues.

Immediately after declaring that the creation was exceedingly good, the Bible records: "Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done" (Genesis 2:1). Then, starting with verse four, Moses adds specific details of how God created some aspects of the creation on the previous days, using the word good (Strong's H2896) 8 times in 7 verses. These uses will help us gain insights into the meaning of the word as it applies to the quality of creation.

• Genesis 2:9: "And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The Tree of Life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil."

• Genesis 2:12: "And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and the onyx stone are there."

• Genesis 2:17: "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."

• Genesis 2:18: "And the LORD God said, 'It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.'"

• Genesis 3:5: "For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

• Genesis 3:6: "So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate."

• Genesis 3:22: Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever."

I do not pretend to be a Hebrew scholar. Yet, in each example, the word good is always a singular, masculine adjective with an absolute state — whatever that means. The only variation is in Genesis 2:9, where the conjunction "and" is added to the word. This consistency lends to the fact that there are no nuances in the word that sets it apart when choosing a definition. Context alone determines the meaning.

The above verses can help us understand what God had in mind by calling His creation exceedingly good.

Drawing Out Some Meaning

Let's examine these verses against the various meanings of good to see which might apply to God's very good creation.

• There could not have yet been fallen angels as God had created and declared even the hosts very good (Genesis 2:1).

• God's plants were good and appeared good for food (Genesis 2:9, 3:6). No doubt that included taste, appearance, and nourishment.

• The gold was good (Genesis 2:12). No doubt that goodness included abundance, quality, and appearance.

• The tree of the knowledge of good and evil was off-limits to humans (Genesis 2:9, 17). The tree itself was good, and it was good that it was there — and it embodied, attested to, and tested morality.

• God commanded Adam not to partake of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil before He made Eve. The timing indicates that the tree was made and planted on the same day as other plant life (Day 3) or, at the latest, on Day 6 — before God created Eve from Adam's side.

• God made Eve before declaring the creation as exceedingly good. This fact reinforces that morality was part of God's proclamation that creation was very good. Marriage fidelity is a vital component of Christian morality, and the Bible often uses it as a metaphor for spiritual fidelity. Additionally, the exceeding goodness of marriage testifies that every perversion of marriage is exceedingly wicked.

• Once man transgressed the command to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, it was good to remove man from accessing the tree of life lest he live forever in his fallen state (Genesis 3:22).

While these verses show that God most certainly included morality as part of His exceedingly good creation, nothing solidly cements the connection of morality with the shape of the earth, although it is implied. However, we can appeal to the New Testament to make the connection irrefutable.

Romans Ties Morality to the Doctrine of the Shape of the Earth

We've already seen that the earth's shape matters because truth matters. Plus, we've seen that God declares His creation exceedingly good — a moral statement that is impossible to refute. Yet, we know of at least one more passage (no doubt there are many more)² that declares God ties morality to every aspect of His creation.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

Romans 1:18-23

The Word of God testifies that God's invisible attributes are plainly seen by the things He made. God designed everything to point men to His existence — so much so that the nature of His exceedingly good creation leaves men without excuse.

One must ask: what has God, from the beginning of time, made CLEARLY seen in His creation?

Whichever model you can easily see and understand — that is the morally upright model — the counterfeit being a false image, exceedingly wicked, and a lie.

What Is Clearly Seen?

Is the earth fixed or movable? Does it spin, or is it still? Is the sun the center of the universe or the earth? Do the oceans curve at 8" per mile squared, or are they level? Does the earth move, or do the celestials make a circuit in the heavens?

Apprehending anything other than a fixed and stable earth requires ethereal knowledge, a revelation outside of creation and God's Word, which testifies to the obvious. When we search out the origins of the idea that the earth shifts and moves around the sun, we find, as predicted, occult teachings, secret knowledge, and sun worship.

The Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, declares that the visible manifestations of the creation attest to God's invisible attributes. These are not MY words. Instead, they are the words of the Living God. The simplicity of God's creation is why nearly all primitive and ancient cosmologies, including Hebrew Cosmology, taught that the earth was flat, stationary, and equipped with a solid sky.

Why Lie?

Why would men place the sun and not the earth at the center of the universe? What can governmental organizations gain by convincing the world that the earth rotates on its axis, circles the sun, and moves through infinite space at unmeasurable speeds?

BTW: The second law of thermodynamics, as it applies to gases, makes it impossible for the earth's atmosphere to collide with the alleged vacuum of space because gases must find equilibrium.

If the shape of the earth and the nature of the cosmos have no moral foundations or implications, then deceivers would have nothing to gain by presenting an alternate worldview of the universe than the one presented in Scripture.

Yet, everything about creation is moral.

Satan KNOWS that the creation declares the glory of God and reveals His invisible attributes, leaving men without excuse. What better way to suppress the truth of God's nature and existence than by creating an idol of the earth to lead men astray?

God's Wrath Is Good News

If God reveals His wrath from heaven against all those who suppress the truth in unrighteousness — and we live on a Flat Earth with a local sun, a moon with demonstrably cold light, and a solid firmament above our heads — then His wrath is against NASA and all governmental agencies and men that seek to deceive people about God's exquisite creation.

Ultimately, NASA attempts to hide the simplicity of God's creation: a flat, stationary earth. God testifies that His creation is easy to comprehend by the things which He made, even those exceedingly good things. Even more, those things testify to His invisible attributes, the very nature of God — including His eternal power and Godhead. [Again, Flat Earth brings us to the doctrine of the Trinity.] God says that He made the world in such a way that it would leave men without an excuse that there is a creator. The shape of the earth is a moral matter.

How Does NASA Fit In?

Today, we would not "KNOW" that God created the world as a globe without the aid of NASA and Hollywood. Thanks to modern technology, NASA can invent a giant fish tale of a story about God's creation.

No one can deny that Hollywood could recreate (often better than NASA) spacewalks, moon landings, ISS footage, rocket launches, so-called footage on terrestrial spheres, earth curvature, and more. How can we trust something we cannot test? ³

Yet, we have God's true testimony. And for those with ears to hear, the Bible teaches something entirely different, which even Christian globe proponents admit — even if they deny the validity of a Flat Earth.

In this video, Michael Heiser teaches ancient Hebrew Cosmology from the Bible. Sadly, he rejects the Bible's teaching and defaults to NASA and science so-called instead.

It breaks my heart that so many Christians put their faith in an organization like NASA that openly denies God's creation account, was founded by Satanists and Occultists, and blasphemes the name of God in the process. Candace Owens does an excellent job exposing the satanic origins of NASA here:

God forbids His children to mention the names of false gods. Yet, NASA regularly honors pagan deities by naming celestial bodies, missions, and spacecraft after them. Learn about the mission specifically named after the serpent god Apep.

Why are Christians so naive to trust an immoral organization founded by occultists that openly teaches:

• The Big Bang Theory (when God said He created the earth in six days);

• The universe has been evolving over billions of years (see above);

• The sun was created before the earth (when the Bible says God created the sun after the earth);

• An expanding universe (when God said He finished His work on Day Six, and it was exceptionally good);

• The sun is a star (when God said the stars are different than the sun);

• The moon reflects the sun (when God says the moon has its own light);

• There may be life on other planets (when the Bible makes no mention of terrestrial orbs in the sky — let alone other life forms);

• The earth revolves around the sun (when the Bible teaches the earth is stationary and the sun, moon, and stars have their courses).

Will we take God at His Word? Or will we stay enamored by Science Fiction turned fraud?

Why Do Christians Put Faith in Fraud?

One reason Christians trust organizations like NASA is because they are infested with masterful deceivers, as one would expect, having been founded by Satan worshippers with an agenda. And NASA uses their puppet astronauts to blaspheme the name of God by praying in space, reciting Scripture in space, and taking communion in space, giving Christians already enamored by space travel warm fuzzies.

Allegedly, Buzz Aldrin was the first to take communion on the moon with permission from his session.⁴ Shockingly, that's not the only thing Aldrin is credited to have done on the moon.

According to the Bedfordshire Freemasons, "Brother Edwin Eugene (Buzz) Aldrin, Jr., a member of Clear Lake Lodge No. 1417, Texas….conducted the consecration of the first Masonic Lodge on the Moon, thus securing the right to open a branch – the Grand Provincial Moon Lodge. The landing of the lunar module had been made in the sea of Tranquility, therefore the new lodge had received the name Tranquility Lodge and got the number 2000." ⁵

This doublemindedness is blasphemy. One can not commune with Almighty God and demons. Yet, this is how NASA intentionally deceives naive Christians into their space farce and fake creation narrative. And the wrath of God is upon them. May God deliver those held under their cosmological doctrines of demons.

Not only does NASA blaspheme the name of God, they also are guilty of lying, thieving, covetousness, murder, and dragging people to hell. I will have to save that expose for another post.

NASA has a budget of $24.875 billion. That's $68 million a day they are spending to deceive you and me into believing that space is real and that God's Word is not a reliable witness to His creation. The Bible declares that men cannot travel into infinite space because it does not exist (Psalms 115:16).

God created a solid firmament above our heads (Job 37:18). No astronaut can get through that. Above that is God's throne (Isaiah 40:22). Reaching the heavens has already been attempted and vetoed at the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11). Don't think for a second that God will allow NASA to build a lasting name for themselves. God will put an end to their evil schemes. His wrath is against them.

NASA is hunting souls like birds, and God is displeased.

"Therefore thus says the Lord God: 'Behold, I am against your magic charms by which you hunt souls there like birds. I will tear them from your arms, and let the souls go, the souls you hunt like birds. I will also tear off your veils and deliver My people out of your hand, and they shall no longer be as prey in your hand. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.

"Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and you have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that he does not turn from his wicked way to save his life. Therefore you shall no longer envision futility nor practice divination; for I will deliver My people out of your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.' "

Ezekiel 13:20-23

Let's keep exposing NASA’s lies, and ask God, in faith, to remove the organization.

God created the heavens, the host of them, and the earth, and He declared they were all amazingly good. Since truth matters, how God created the earth also matters. Either the globe model is very good and the Flat Earth exceedingly wicked — or the Flat Earth model is very good and the globe model wicked. It is one or the other — there is no middle ground.

As Christians, we must discover which model God declares vehemently good and moral and reject and expose the lying counterfeit.

One model suppresses the invisible attributes of God and the Godhead, while the other [from the beginning and without the aid of NASA] reveals them, leaving men excuse-less.

Take God at His word and accept that the earth's shape matters dearly to Him.
